You’ve been trying to read the waves while doing your best not to go under

Together, we’ll look at what’s happening beneath the surface so you can rely less on sheer force to survive and start building more sustainable ways of supporting yourself through therapy, available in-person and online.

There’s a way through the overwhelm that gets you out of your head

You can know your patterns, your history, and the advice that’s “supposed” to help, and still find yourself pulled back into the same places.

  • The resentment or anger that lingers longer than expected.

  • The bone-deep exhaustion that a holiday can’t fix.

  • The care you give others while leaving little for yourself.

  • The identity shifts that change how you understand yourself.

  • The quiet “is this it?” feeling you can’t ignore anymore.

All of this is a lot to carry alone, but with someone skilled helping you, you can begin responding instead of reacting and strengthen your internal ability to know what you need.

Not sure if individual therapy makes sense for you right now?

Take this quick, anonymous self-check to sort through what’s been showing up and whether therapy might be a useful next step.

We’ll work with what helped you get this far and what life is asking of you now

The ways you’ve learned to cope came from somewhere, often from trying to survive, keep going, stay connected, or feel some sense of control. Gestalt therapy calls these creative adaptations: the strategies you built because you needed them at the time.

In our work together, we can honour those strategies for what they’ve done while also noticing where they keep you stuck in old reactions, old assumptions, or old versions of what safety looks like.

From there, we can sort through what still supports you, what’s no longer helping, and what new skills could help you respond to life rather than react to it.

Here, therapy is collaborative in the real sense of the word

In sessions, I’ll listen, reflect what I understand, and offer places we might begin, so expect to hear some version of, “I think I’m hearing this, and this may be a useful place to start. What do you think?” at least a few times.

Depending on what best supports your goals, our sessions may include conversation, mindfulness, body awareness, creative practices, or other tools that help discover your own ability to regain balance and feel secure, no matter what comes at you in life.

The strategies that helped you survive can be understood with care, not judgment, as you learn what else can support you now

Many people come in knowing something feels off, but don’t have the words for it yet. You might feel anxious, exhausted, overwhelmed, angry, numb, or so used to just pushing through that slowing down enough to name your emotions is unfamiliar.

That’s okay. We’ll start with what you do know, like what’s been difficult lately, what made you consider therapy, or what you’re hoping might feel different.
